Louis Eugene Brus (August 10, 1943 - January 11, 2026) was an American chemist and the Samuel Latham Mitchell Professor of Chemistry at Columbia University. He was the co-discoverer of the colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals known as quantum dots, and in 2023 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
