Sir Peter John Ratcliffe (born 14 May 1954) is a British physician-scientist trained as a nephrologist, Clinical Research Director at the Francis Crick Institute and former Nuffield Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford. He shared the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with William Kaelin Jr. and Gregg L. Semenza for contributions to understanding how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability.
