Victor Robert Ambros (born December 1, 1953) is an American developmental biologist of Polish descent who discovered the first known microRNA. He is a professor at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed both his undergraduate and doctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ambros received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2024 for his research on microRNA.
